2. The Service

The QR Code generator lets you create, customize, and (for dynamic codes) track QR codes. Core features include:

Static & dynamic QR codes

Unlimited static codes plus editable dynamic codes with tracking.

Unlimited scans

No cap on how many times your QR codes can be scanned.

Advanced scan analytics

Totals, locations, devices, OS, and time-based insights.

QR customization

Colors, styles, and logos to match your brand.

Edit destination anytime

Change where a dynamic QR points without reprinting it.

Bulk generation & UTM

Generate codes in bulk with UTM tracking and CSV export.

3. Static vs Dynamic QR

Static QR

  • Encodes the destination directly into the code image.
  • Cannot be edited after generation and is not tracked by us.
  • No scan data is collected because scans do not pass through our servers.

Dynamic QR

  • Redirects through a SkyBrance short link before reaching the destination.
  • Destination can be edited anytime without reprinting.
  • Scans are recorded so we can provide analytics to you.

4. Data We Collect

From QR Creators (You)

  • Account data: name, email, mobile number, profile photo.
  • QR content: destination URLs/values, custom alias, design settings, and UTM parameters.
  • Settings: expiry, password protection, and access controls for dynamic codes.
  • Billing data: billing address and payment references (processed by Razorpay/PayPal).

From People Who Scan (Dynamic QR only)

  • User-agent: device type, browser, and operating system.
  • Approximate geolocation: country/city derived from IP in real time.
  • Timestamp: when the scan occurred.
  • Referrer/source: where available, the context of the scan.

5. Scan Analytics

When a dynamic QR code is scanned, the visitor is redirected to the destination and the scan is recorded for analytics shown to the QR creator.

  • IP addresses are processed in real time for geolocation. We do not store full, unmasked IP addresses.
  • Analytics are aggregated and provided only to the QR creator and their authorized collaborators.
  • Static QR codes are not tracked - scanning them does not send data to us.

We do not sell scan data and do not use it to build advertising profiles of the people who scan your codes.

6. How We Use Data

Provide the service

Generate, render, and (for dynamic codes) resolve QR redirects.

Scan analytics

Produce the scan insights and dashboards for your dynamic codes.

Safety & fraud prevention

Screen destinations and detect abuse, spam, or malicious content.

Service communications

Send transactional messages, security alerts, and account notices.

7. Security & Storage

Where Data Lives

  • Primary database: MongoDB Atlas, Mumbai (India) region.
  • File storage: Cloudflare storage for generated QR assets and logos.

Safeguards

  • Encryption: passwords hashed; data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • Access control: QR data is scoped to owners and authorized collaborators.
  • Minimization: we avoid storing raw identifiers such as full IP addresses.

8. Sharing & Third Parties

QR Code data is shared only in limited, necessary ways:

  • Collaborators: members you invite can access the relevant QR code and its analytics.
  • Service providers: infrastructure and payment processors (e.g., Razorpay, PayPal, Google/Firebase) acting on our instructions.
  • Legal: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

We never sell your QR codes or your scanners' data.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the QR Code generator to create or distribute codes that lead to:

  • Malware, phishing, scams, or other malicious or deceptive content.
  • Illegal content, or material that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Deceptive redirects - for example, editing a dynamic QR to point somewhere users would not expect.
  • Artificially inflating scan counts or abusing the analytics system.

We may disable QR codes, suspend accounts, or remove content that violates this policy, with or without notice where required for safety.

10. Terms of Service

  • Eligibility: you must be able to form a binding contract and comply with applicable laws.
  • Your responsibility: you are responsible for QR destinations and the content behind your codes.
  • Availability: the service is provided on an "as available" basis; features and limits may change with plans.
  • Plans & limits: dynamic-QR quotas and advanced features depend on your subscription tier.
  • Static codes: once generated, static QR images work independently of our service and cannot be edited or disabled remotely.
  • Termination: either party may end use of the service; abusive use may lead to immediate suspension.
  • Liability: to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from destinations controlled by you.

11. Data Retention

  • QR codes & analytics: retained while your account is active and the code exists.
  • Expired dynamic codes: resolve according to your expiry settings and may be purged thereafter.
  • On deletion: deleting a QR code or account removes associated scan analytics, subject to legal and billing record requirements.
  • Backups: residual copies in backups are removed on our regular rotation cycle.

12. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and India's DPDP Act 2023), you can:

Access the data we hold about you and your QR codes.
Correct inaccurate account or QR information.
Delete your QR codes and request account deletion.
Export your scan analytics (CSV).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
